Jonathan Taylor: The Power of Content in Live Events

At SocialDay's Social Media Marketing Festival 2025, hosted at Phantom Peak London, we are welcoming Jonathan Taylor, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager at Phantom Peak. With a background in West End theatre marketing and immersive experiences, Jonathan brings a unique perspective on how social media can be used to build awareness, drive ticket sales, and grow engaged communities.

About Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan’s career started in West End & Touring theatre, where he worked on contracts before transitioning into marketing at Bill Kenwright Ltd. He played a key role in launching the first West End show after the pandemic, working on Love Letters, Be More Chill, and Heathers. Since then, Jonathan has specialised in marketing for immersive experiences, having worked on projects such as Mamma Mia! The Party, The War of The Worlds Immersive, The Gunpowder Plot, and Elvis Evolution.

Now leading the marketing team at Phantom Peak, Jonathan is at the forefront of using social media to amplify live experiences, ensuring that organic and paid social strategies work together to maximise reach and engagement.

  • Practical strategies to ensure organic and paid social work together effectively.

Jonathan’s Perspective on Social Media Trends

Jonathan believes that brands are becoming more playful and a whole lot less serious, which is an exciting shift in how social media is used. However, with the increasing ease of content creation, the challenge now lies in cutting through the noise and delivering messages that truly resonate.

A Social Media Success Story

One of Jonathan’s standout successes involved working with Emily Boe, a US-based influencer who visited London and created content about Phantom Peak simply because she loved the experience. Her organic content gained over 7 million views across Instagram & TikTok, leading to a 10% increase in followers and driving significant traffic to the Phantom Peak website. By repurposing this content for ads, they were able to generate direct ticket sales, demonstrating how social media ecosystems can work together.

What’s Next for Social Media?

Jonathan has been inspired by brands like Curry’s and Waitrose, which have successfully handed over their social accounts to employees, offering an authentic and engaging perspective. Moving forward, he sees a growing emphasis on user-generated and employee-driven content.
